The Swiss AI Action Plan is a collaborative effort to build an AI ecosystem rooted in trust, openness, collaboration and rule-based reliability. We invite experts, companies, and citizens to challenge our perspectives and submit concrete proposals to ensure AI serves the broader Swiss national interest.
Flexible roadmap: This AI Action Plan is a living document and a flexible roadmap. The actions and timelines outlined here are not set in stone but will evolve alongside our project needs.
Participatory process: The measures listed were validated and prioritised in several public stakeholder workshops. Opportunities for active participation are continually being created, with digitalswitzerland acting as coordinator rather than carrying out all the actions in the plan itself.
Contribution to the AI Summit Geneva 2027: The AI Summit in Geneva in June 2027 will mark the culmination of this coordinated work. The AI Summit is a great opportunity to discuss Switzerland's position and the contributions of companies and organisations here in the global digital ecosystem.
Evaluation: The success of the AI Action Plan is measured by the degree to which the measures are implemented. Progress will be tracked on an ongoing basis.

As umbrella organisation for digitalisation in Switzerland, digitalswitzerland coordinates the development and further development of the public-private Swiss AI Action Plan, in close cooperation with the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) and partners from business, academia and society.
The Steering Group acts as the highest governing body and decides on the overarching objectives, milestones and the focus on impact. The Steering Group meets once a quarter. The members of the Steering Group are:
The Swiss AI Action Plan is aimed at private and public sector stakeholders. It is intended to complement and support the Digital Switzerland Strategy and other related strategies.
The “Action Contributors” are responsible for implementing the individual actions. They can be public or private stakeholders. For selected actions, digitalswitzerland acts as Contributor.
All stakeholders can propose actions and express their interest to take on the role of a Contributor. Proposals are pre-screened by digitalswitzerland and discussed in appropriate forums. The final decision on new actions rests with the AI Action Plan Steering Group.
In the spirit of an open participation process, all interested stakeholders are invited to take part in the workshops and discussions. Up-to-date information is primarily communicated via the public chat.
